Does anybody know where the "launcher" went in build 5384? I love that feature and I can't find it anywhere? -- Keith Wood CompTIA A+, Network+

SideBar Launcher
Hi,
It should still be there. Right click the taskbar and choose properties, check the notification area settings.

For the little gadget in the sidebar? It was in build 5308, but it does not appear to be in 5364. You could put things like paint, cmd, calc in it instead of having to go through menus or type the command line. -- Keith Wood CompTIA A+, Network+

It definitely exists in build 5384, same thing as was in the earlier builds. Do you have it enabled in the Control Panel/Windows Sidebar?

The drive meter I downloaded off of www.microsoftgadgets.com. -- Keith Wood CompTIA A+, Network+

We pulled it from Vista for a variety of reasons. It may show up again at http://gallery.microsoft.com in the future.

There were a number of bugs in the gadget that we couldn't fix by beta 2. Instead of shipping something half-baked, we took it out. Having said that, I don't know if its coming back into the Vista box - you should file a suggestion to bring it back, customer feedback is always useful to help drive these decisions.
Even if we don't bring it back into the Vista box, it could alternatively come back as a web download at http://gallery.microsoft.com.

Somehow my clock was deleted from the sidebar. How can I get it back? I sent a bug report up on this one already. I also lost my Quick launch Taskbar. I can enable/disable it but there are no Icons visable.

If you open up the properties dialog for the sidebar, do you see a link that says "restore system gadgets"? If so, click it. If not, you'll either need to wait for the next build or go hack up your sidebar settings.ini file.
(I don't recall if that link was in the beta 2 build or not.)
I'm not sure I understand the taskbar bug - you've added the "Quick Links" toolbar to your system taskbar, and you can't add any shortcuts to it?
